  • Yes. You need your own Wi-Fi network, specifically 2.4GHz (aka 2G) with its own password. Geeni devices use 2G during setup. Smart devices often work with 2GHz because it offers better range and can penetrate walls and obstacles more effectively than 5GHz. This makes it more reliable for devices that might be placed farther away from the Wi-Fi router or have to connect through multiple walls. Once the setup is complete, you may switch to a different network.

  • Here is the guide to add a device to cloud subscription.

    1. Click "My Home."
    2. Click the camera with an active cloud subscription.
    3. Click the three dots on the top right of your live feed.
    4. Click "Cloud Storage"
    5. Select your active plan for the specific device.

  • Here's a Step-by-Step Guide to linking Geeni app with Google Home

    In the era of smart homes, the ability to control your devices with just your voice adds a new level of convenience. If you're an owner of Geeni smart devices and want to harness the power of voice commands through Google Home, here's a step-by-step guide to help you seamlessly link your Geeni devices with Google Home.

     

    Preparation: Ensure Geeni App Connectivity
    Before diving into the integration process, it's crucial to have your Geeni app up and running, already connected to your Geeni devices.

    This ensures a smooth linking process and a hassle-free experience. Once you've verified your Geeni app's connectivity, follow these steps:

     

    1. Open the Google Home app and tap the + (plus) sign on the top left corner of the screen.

    2.Tap “Set up device”

    3. Then “Works with Google”

    4. Search and tap "Geeni" from Home control.

    5. Then tap to "Agree and Link" then the device will automatically link or sometimes it will go to page wherein you have to enter your Geeni account and password. So, make sure that you enter the right account and password.

     

    Upon successful linking, you'll receive a confirmation message. Your Geeni devices are now integrated with Google Home, enabling you to control them effortlessly using voice commands through Google Assistant.
    By following these straightforward steps, you can enhance your smart home experience by seamlessly linking your Geeni devices with Google Home.

  • Yes, you can share Geeni devices.

    Note: The other user's number must be registered in the Geeni App .

    Here goes the process:

     

    Open the Geeni App & In the Geeni app,

    1. Press the Profile button.

    2. Click on the “Device Sharing” button.

    3. Click on ‘Add sharing’.

    4. Choose the devices you want to share and click on the 'share with new member’ button.

    5. Now select your country and enter your mobile number and click confirm to add a new member with whom you want to share.

  • If your Geeni smart device stops working or goes offline, it is because of the following reasons:

    1. Intermittent or no internet connection.
    2. Power outage.
    3. Changes in your router settings where your smart device is connected such as password, Wi-Fi name upgrades, etc.
    4. You've changed your router ar your internect provider.

    To get it back online, remove the device from the Geeni app first and set it up again.
    You can follow the steps below.

    How to remove the device:
    1. From the main device list, select the device which you want to remove.
    2. Click on the (...) button on the top right corner. Scroll down until you see "Remove Device".
    3. Tap on "Remove and clear data" and then "Confirm"

     

  • Please make sure your smart device is plugged in. If your device is a smart humidifier or a diffuser, the reset button is also the power button. If it is a smart purifier, the timer (clock icon) is the reset button. Press and hold the reset button until the LED indicator light is blinking slowly.

    1. Launch the Geeni app and on the top right corner of the screen, tap +. You will see some tiles on the next page with different device names and choose “Smart Appliance”.
    2. The next page will show your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi name. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi password then click “Next Step”. (Make sure your Wi-Fi password is correct).
    3. A message will pop up, then choose "Slowly (every 2 sec): Manual Mode".
    4. Next, you will be directed to a page saying “Let's connect to the device's unique hotspot”, then tap “Connect now”.
    5. You will be routed to your phone’s Wi-Fi settings, from there look for a unique hotspot name (ex. Geeni-XXXX, Merkury-XXXX or iHome-XXXX)
    6. Tap on it to connect. If you see “Unsecured connection” or “This device has no internet” after connecting to the unique hotspot, ignore it and go back to the Geeni app.
    7. Then, you will see the connection process on the app. You can wait for the countdown or look at the progress of the dotted line. Tap “Done” in the upper right corner once the device has been added successfully. After that, you will see your device's control panel.

  • Remove your door sensor's cover to be able to see the reset button and the LED indicator light. Reset your door sensor by pressing and holding the reset button for 3-5 seconds until the indicator light flashes slowly.

    1. Launch the Geeni app and on the top right corner of the screen, tap +. You will see some tiles on the next page with different device names and choose “Sensors”.
    2. The next page will show your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi name. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi password then click “Next Step”.
    3. A message will pop up, then choose "Slowly (every 2 sec): Manual Mode".
    4. Next, you will be directed to a page saying “Let's connect to the device's unique hotspot”, then click “Connect now”.

    Note: Users need to Enable Bluetooth and Location. Before diving into the Geeni app, ensure that Bluetooth and Location services are enabled on your smartphone by going directly to you phone main settings and have it set on allowed/ enabled.  

     

    Note that it is very crucial for the initial setup process. 

     

    Setting Up process using QR Mode: 

     

    1. Reset the Device  Make sure the doorbell is ready to be paired. Poke and hold the Reset Button of the doorbell until a beep is heard. 

    2. Indicator Light Status  The indicator light will turn solid red, followed by another beep, to blinking red. 

    3. Launch Geeni App and Add Device Open the Geeni app and tap the plus sign "+" to add a new device. Select "Add Device" to begin the setup. Then click the "Smart Doorbell." 


    4. Confirm Device Power  Tap "Next Step" if conditions for the doorbell have been met for Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3.



    5. Confirm Flashing Status  When prompted, confirm that the indicator light is" flashing quickly" and tap "Next step" in the app.

    6. Enter Wi-Fi Password  Provide your Wi-Fi password under your Wi-Fi name and tap "Next Step" to proceed.

    7. Scan QR Code  Hold your smartphone with the displayed QR Code in front of your Geeni Doorbell lens (6-8 inches) until you hear the prompt. Confirm that you heard the prompt and tap "Next Step."


    8. Wait for Connection  Wait for the 2-minute countdown, and once completed, tap "Done" to finish the setup. 

  • Guide to Setting Up Your Geeni Camera: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Modes

    • Confirm Flashing Status

    When prompted, confirm that the indicator light is flashing quickly and tap "Next step" in the app.

    • Enter Wi-Fi Password

    Provide your Wi-Fi password under your Wi-Fi name and tap "Next Step" to proceed.

    • Scan QR Code

    Hold your smartphone with the displayed QR Code in front of your Geeni Camera lens (6-8 inches) until you hear the prompt. Confirm that you heard the prompt and tap "Next Step."

    • Wait for Connection

    Wait for the 2-minute countdown, and once completed, tap "Done" to finish the setup.

     

    Note

    If the initial setup fails, you can follow the app's instructions to add your device again.

     

    Setting Up Through Wi-Fi Mode

    • Open Geeni App and Add Device

    Launch the Geeni app, tap the plus sign "+," and select "Add Device."

    • Confirm Device Power

    Ensure your Geeni camera is powered on, and hit "Next" in the app to proceed.

    • Switch to Wi-Fi Mode

    On the top right corner, tap the QR Mode, and from the drop-down menu, choose "Wifi Mode."

    • Wait for Connection

    Wait for the 2-minute countdown, and once completed, tap "Done" to finish the setup.

  • Effortless Setup of Geeni Smart LED Strips Devices: Easy and Manual Modes

    Whether you prefer a quick and easy setup or a more deliberate manual approach, this guide will walk you through both methods to ensure a successful connection.

    Manual Mode (Slow Blinking light)

    1. Reset the Device - Ensure the device is plugged in and powered on. Press and hold the reset button on the controller of the LED strip for at least 5 seconds to reset. The LED Strip should be flashing.
    2. Indicator Light Status - The indicator light on the LED Strip should be blinking slowly.
    3. Launch Geeni App and Add Device - Open the Geeni app and tap the plus sign "+" to add a new device. Select "Add Device" to begin the setup. Then click the Select "Smart LED Strip."



    4. WiFi Password - Type in your 2.4 GHz WI-FI password and then tap "Next Step".


    5. Reset the Device Page - Tap "Next Step" if conditions for the device have been met for Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3.


    6. Confirm Flashing Status - Select the status of the LED strip. Tap "Blink Slowly".
    7. Connecting to the LED Hotspot - Connect to the strip's unique hotspot. It can be either of the three hotspot names: Geeni-XXXX, Merkury-XXXX or iHome-XXXX). Hit "Connect Now"



      Connect to it and make sure that you are connected to the device's hotspot before proceeding to the next step. Ignore any message that says: No Internet Connection, Unsecured Connection, etc.


    8. Connecting Page - Go back to the Geeni app by pressing the back arrow on the top left corner beside Settings or WIFI. It will redirect to "Connecting Device" page.
    9. Wait for Connection - Wait for the 2 minutes countdown or look at the three dotted line's progress, then tap "Done" once connected.



    If the manual mode didn't work, you may proceed on Easy Mode/Quickly Blinking.

  • Please make sure your smart plug or power strip is plugged into an outlet. When plugged in, the indicator light will start blinking. Press and hold the reset button for 3-5 seconds and then release. If it is still blinking fast, press and hold the reset button for another 3-5 seconds, until you reach the slow blinking light.

    If your device is a smart switch, on its faceplate is the "Restart" button also known as the Wi-Fi Reset button. Reset your smart switch by pressing and holding the "Restart" button for 3-5 seconds and its indicator light should flash slowly.

    1. Launch the Geeni app and on the top right corner of the screen, tap +. You will see some tiles on the next page with different device names and choose “Smart Power”.
    2. The next page will show your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi name. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi password then click “Next Step”.
    3. A message will pop up, then choose "Slowly (every 2 sec): Manual Mode".
    4. Next, you will be directed to a page saying “Let's connect to the device's unique hotspot”, then click “Connect now”.
