Same here. I tried with samsung phone, then ipad, then kindle fire. I even added the MAC address in my router. Nothing. In this day of age, this should not be that hard.

By the way, the new app does not have AP mode, so update your damn instructions

Ok, kiddos.  I have one of those cameras and it works in your home network and throught the phone outside your house.  The problem you all are having is that you have to find out through the DHCP feature in your internet router and find the IP assigned to the camera.  Then you have to find out an option named DMZ in your router and add the IP of that camera.  What DMZ does is bypass any Firewall port block, allowing the camera to receive and transmit through the internet to your phone and vice versa.  Don't worry about security issues, since the camera is just a device, not a computer where you store data and that can be stolen.  I had to DMZ my camera in order to see what it's happening inside my house from my phone provider using the Geeni app. Hope this works for you.  Have a wonderful day.

Great if you know what dmz and ect., Even mean.

That is why I am explaining what you have to do.  You don't need to know what does DMZ stands for, just find the DMZ section and add the ip of the camera. If you don't know that gibblish, let someone who knows do the configuration and provide that detail and I am sure it will make it work. Just saying.  Have a wonderful day, MAE.

I have one of these cameras and was super pleased with it to the point where I ran out and purchased another. 4 weeks into using it the automatic motion detection notifications stopped popping up on my phone and iPad. All settings were correct. I called the company and what they told me was that that service is no longer available. What good is a camera if you can’t get motion detected notifications.?

Greetings Rose. Can you contact them back again and ask if the service is unavailable only for Apple devices? I have an android and notifications are working without a problem. Until today it is still working. Let me know what they tell you, please.

Okay so I have my camera set up it's says it's online and connected but when I go to the actual viewing area it says constructing encryption channel. Like what does that mean and how do I fix it. I bought this camera so I could keep an eye on my dogs while I'm at work and would like to have it completely set up before I go back from vacation. Can anyone help me. I tried the customer support but can't find a number just a place to email them and more than likely I won't get a response back. So if anyone could help me that would be great! Thanks in advance 😁😁

Be patient. That’s what it’s supposed to do before the picture appears

I've tried nearly everything I've even completely reset internet router and reset the camera itself. Just looking for some ideas of what else I could try.

Hey I just bought one of these cameras earlier and mine is doing the same thing as yours Jaeleen! Keeps saying constructing encryption channel and loading! I've removed it and readded it several times. Using easy connect and the QR scan. Reset it several times. Still the same outcome. Im about to take it back! The last thing I am going to try is putting a sd card in it. Let me know if you figure it out!

Erin so I called the Geeni support and they said allot of people are having the same issue they sent it off to their I guess IT people. They said they haven't gotten a set date on when it will be fixed but I'd say give it two weeks before you return it.

Alex do you think that makes a difference or are you checking something out for your own device?

Hi Jaeleen did you get anything sorted? I have been trying to set the camera up can't get wifi to connect. Do you know where the geeni wifi network password is?

Hi, Jaeleen. The constructing encryption message is normal to display but only last shortly before image takes place. Have you tried to DMZ the ip of your camera in your internet router? Let me explain. DMZ feature in the internet routers helps bypass any port protected by the firewall. That means that the ip of the camera has free pass of communication on any port the device uses. I had to do that on my router to allow the camera video display outside my house. Try to find the ip of your camera in throughout the app, then get into your router, find the DMZ option and put the camera's ip and save the changes in your router. Let me know if that works for you. Wonderful day for you.

By the way, my camera is a Geeni Sentinel (rounded dome one) and the latest firmware of it is 1.3.0.
